How to get Financial Parameters using API

I am looking to use API to get financial parameters such total assets, net assets, revenue and so on directly without going into the annual report. Thank you.

I’m not sure that’s possible. It seems to come down to processing the bulk financial info (not the API - see below) or - if the company has filed electronically via an iXBRL - downloading and processing those of interest. That could be done via the Filing History endpoint then the Document API.

You can find that data in XBRL format in bulk at:

…other than that you’d have to work through the filings and discover any XBRL for yourself.

We are currently using the bulk financial data but have ran into a problem. We need to know if each data point, e.g. IncreaseDecreaseInLiabilitiesDefinedBenefitSchemeFromBusinessCombinations or FinalDividendsPaid, belongs in the balance sheet or the profit and loss section of the financials. I would like to know how I can get bulk financial information on all companies going back five years? I know I can get the daily download but that only goes back to January 2015. Is there a bulk source that will provide me with financial information since 2011? Thank you very much!
