start_index incrementation

I tried to made a request on the API. I tried to search all companies with
an A in their name. It was written that the total_results was 897667. So I
have understood that there are 897667 companies having an A in their name.
I tried to increment the start_index file to see next pages and have a look
at all these companies but it was not possible to go after start_index=200.
With 2O items per page it didn’t lead me to 897667 companies.
I was wondering why it is not possible to see all companies?

This is a known limitation of the service and has been discussed in the attached forum posts previously.

Search API NOT working Properly

i search eduction companies using search api( https://api.companieshouse.gov.uk/search/companies?q=a&start_index=100&items_per_page=100) That's api working fine i got result total records = 10045 again i call that api with starting index 200 but not working. i got below response 416 Request Range Not Satisfiable How can i get more than 200 records using search api Thanks Suresh

API num & startIndex not working

i try to searh with this link companies?q=a there are more thean 38000 result but the request json show me just 20 items and when i try with https://api.companieshouse.gov.uk/search/companies?q=a&items_per_page=100 i recive 100 items also i try with , https://api.companieshouse.gov.uk/search/companies?q=a&num=100 but not working &startIndex=100 please help me

Given this is not a priority change at the moment I cannot provide timescales for when the change may be implemented.
