Disqualified Directors - Bulk data

Hi,

We currently use the bulk data for Disqualified Directors that we get weekly via ftp

We are just doing some work on integrating this data into our system and we have identified some anomalies with the data that I’m hoping someone can advise on.

We’ve found that there seems to be disqualifications associated with a person which have a slight variation with the 12 digit person numbers, some examples below

There are no other records for any individual in the data for the different person ID number.

We are just trying to establish if there is anomalies in the data or if we we are interpreting the data incorrectly

All 12 digit person numbers are actually made up of 2 parts :-

The first 8 digits are the unique identifier, whilst the last 4 digits can be described as an “iteration” number that always starts from 0001. A change to an individual’s Usual Residential Address (URA) or Name (but not Service Address) will generally result in a new increment of the Person Number being created.

In each of the 4 cases referred to, the person has been disqualified more than once, and has quoted different URAs for each disqualification. Therefore the 2 (or 5) disqualifications match different iterations of the same Person on our database, so the last 4 digits of the person number will be slightly different, but definitely still refer to the same person.

If taking this Product in isolation, these last 4 digits can actually be completely ignored as the “current” address for each Person is given in the Type 1 Record anyway.

Such records are distinctly rare , so to avoid this confusion we have tweaked the data so that only one 12 digit number is quoted in each case - starting with the file sent 22/06/17, Run Number 1901.
