IMPORTANT URL changes

Companies House is moving CHS and its associated services to the central Government service platform in early September and, as a result, a number of the service URLs will change. We will be re-directing traffic from the old addresses so there should be no interruption of service.

The URL changes are as follows:

beta.companieshouse.gov.uk —> find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk (main web service address)
account.companieshouse.gov.uk —> identity.company-information.service.gov.uk (sign-in service)
follow.companieshouse.gov.uk —> follow.company-information.service.gov.uk (Follow service)
payments.companieshouse.gov.uk —> pay.company-information.service.gov.uk (payment service)
developer.companieshouse.gov.uk —> developer.company-information.service.gov.uk (developer web-site)
api.companieshouse.gov.uk —> api.company-information.service.gov.uk
api-pay.companieshouse.gov.uk —> api-pay.company-information.service.gov.uk

We will confirm when these changes have been made and, from that point, it would be best practice to use the new addresses for any developments and to amend any existing references rather than relying on the re-direction of traffic.

Never use a short URL when a diminutive one will do?
I struggle to imagine anyone typing into their browser the address of the main web service, which is 50 characters long.
Yes, I know a lot of people just use Google, but do we really want to encourage that?
