Update Company Name

Hello
I have updated the company name using API.but if company name has special symbol like &, the company name not update in the company house. how to add symbol in a company name and send in API in a company house.
please provide an XML example for updating the company in the company house.

Can you clarify which API you are using? Our APIs use JSON usually.
