Issues connecting to bulk FTP server

Hello!

We have a scheduled job that attempts to connect to ftp.bulk.companieshouse.gov.uk in order to download files; however, it is repeatedly timing out before we can even pass in credentials.

This was set-up several years ago, but has only recently been failing.

How can I check the status of the FTP site and what might be causing the timeout issues?

Sorry for the very late reply. There have been no reported issues with our ftp servers. are you still having connectivity issues?

No problem; yes we’re still having issues.

I had a look back at correspondence we had with the person that set the FTP server up for us, and they state “files do not stay on the FTP server longer than about 60 days”.

Yet as of the last time we managed to connect to the FTP server (in June), we were still pulling daily files from three years ago.

I’m wondering if that’s the source of the issue?

(Just for context, this was set up 5 years ago and both the internal person and the person at Companies House that set it up for us are no longer in the same jobs!)

That service closed 31/5/2024. You will have had a copy of an email today, that was sent out to a contact at your company a few months ago. There is are details of the Companies House contact you will need to use the replacement service.
