The newly provided PDF document images do not render in Firefox, all other browsers seem to be ok.
Is this a known issue? is there a fix being created?
I have tried to validate the files using PDF Tools Online - Validate PDF. It would appear that your pdfs are invalid.
I cannot vouch for the validity of the checker, but it seems accurate on other test files…
It appears to be a known issue with pdf.js, the PDF view Firefox uses as default, and is not specific to Companies House. All other views we have tried have no problems at all.
We continue to look for a solution.
I think there is more to this than it being a pdf.js issue.
Some documents render in firefox and some don’t. The ones that don’t… I’m having issues with in other ways including the Aspose.pdf component and another free service I tried. This split between documents that work and documents that don’t persists whether I download them through firefox, chrome or using the API within my own program.
However if I download the same two documents through CH Direct then they both work everywhere.
I’m going to do some more investigating and get back to you!
